Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Kosher Salt
  • 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Sage
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Thyme
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Rosemary
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper, ground
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder

Instructions:

  1. Measure and combine the kosher salt, light brown sugar, smoked paprika, dried sage, dried thyme, dried rosemary, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium bowl.
  2. Whisk or blend the ingredients thoroughly until a uniform color and texture is achieved. Store the rub in an airtight container until ready for use.
  3. For best results, generously apply the rub mixture all over the surface of the turkey skin 8 to 24 hours before cooking. This allows the salt to penetrate and create a short brine effect.
