Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Kosher Salt
- 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 Tbsp Dried Sage
- 1 Tbsp Dried Thyme
- 1 Tbsp Dried Rosemary
- 1 Tbsp Black Pepper, ground
- 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
Instructions:
- Measure and combine the kosher salt, light brown sugar, smoked paprika, dried sage, dried thyme, dried rosemary, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a medium bowl.
- Whisk or blend the ingredients thoroughly until a uniform color and texture is achieved. Store the rub in an airtight container until ready for use.
- For best results, generously apply the rub mixture all over the surface of the turkey skin 8 to 24 hours before cooking. This allows the salt to penetrate and create a short brine effect.
