Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340 g) fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained
- 1 medium orange, zested and juiced (about 1/2 cup or 120 ml juice)
- 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar, adjust to taste
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
- 1/2 tsp (2 g) ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup (30 g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup (35 g) raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) grated fresh ginger (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse the cranberries and remove any damaged ones.
- Zest and juice the orange.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt.
- For a smoother texture, use a food processor or chop finely by hand until desired consistency is reached.
- Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, then cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature alongside your festive dishes.
