Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces (225g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces (115g) pepperoni slices, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 package (17.3 ounces/490g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface. Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry onto the surface. If needed, use a rolling pin to lightly roll it into a large rectangle, about 12x16 inches (30x40cm).
  3. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Then, sprinkle the chopped pepperoni on top, followed by Parmesan (if using).
  5. Starting from one long end, tightly roll up the puff pastry into a log.
  6. Wrap the log tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to make slicing easier.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  8. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the chilled log into approximately ½-inch (1.25 cm) thick pinwheels.
  9. Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  10. Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg wash. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning (if using).
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Let the pinwheels cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving platter.
