Ingredients:
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (120ml) pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces (225g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces (115g) pepperoni slices, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1 package (17.3 ounces/490g) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
- Lightly flour a clean surface. Gently unfold the thawed puff pastry onto the surface. If needed, use a rolling pin to lightly roll it into a large rectangle, about 12x16 inches (30x40cm).
- Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the cream cheese mixture. Then, sprinkle the chopped pepperoni on top, followed by Parmesan (if using).
- Starting from one long end, tightly roll up the puff pastry into a log.
- Wrap the log tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to make slicing easier.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, slice the chilled log into approximately ½-inch (1.25 cm) thick pinwheels.
- Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg wash. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning (if using).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the pinwheels cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a serving platter.
