- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
- A pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, adjusting to your taste.
- Sample the mixture and adjust sweetness with honey or add heat with red pepper flakes, if desired.
- Transfer marinade to an airtight container or zip-top bag with your chosen protein or veggies.
- Let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the fridge (up to 24 hours for deeper flavor).
