Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons celery salt (30 ml)
- 1 tablespoon sweet paprika (15 ml)
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard (15 ml)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (5 ml)
- 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (3.75 ml)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger (3.75 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper (2.5 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (2.5 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice (2.5 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves (1.25 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (1.25 ml)
Instructions:
- In a small mixing bowl, add all ingredients: celery salt, paprika, dry mustard, black pepper, cayenne pepper, ground ginger, ground white pepper, ground cinnamon, ground allspice, ground cloves, and ground cardamom.
- Using a whisk or spoon, combine all the spices until well blended and uniform in color.
- Give it a wee taste (careful with the cayenne!). Adjust the cayenne pepper to your desired level of heat.
- Transfer the homemade Old Bay seasoning to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dark place.
