Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
- 4 cups (960 ml) ice cubes
- ½ cup (120 g) coarse salt
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until sugar is dissolved and mixture is smooth.
- Pour the ice cream mixture into the smaller quart-sized bag and seal tightly, removing excess air. In the larger gallon-sized bag, add ice cubes and coarse salt.
- Place the smaller bag inside the larger bag with ice and seal the larger bag.
- Shake the bag vigorously for about 5-10 minutes, holding with a towel or using oven mitts to protect your hands from the cold.
- After shaking, check if the ice cream has thickened to your desired consistency; continue shaking if necessary.
- Carefully remove the smaller bag from the larger one, wipe off salt, and scoop out the ice cream into bowls.
