Ingredients:

  • 1 package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 rolls)
  • 12 oz thinly sliced Deli Sliced Ham
  • 8 oz Swiss Cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Onion Flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (8 tbsp) Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Poppy Seeds
  • 1 tsp Brown Sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Using a serrated knife, slice the entire block of sweet rolls horizontally through the middle, keeping the rolls connected. Place the bottom half cut-side up in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the fillings: Place the ham evenly over the bottom rolls. Follow with a layer of Swiss cheese, ensuring good coverage. Top the cheese with the remaining ham, and then place the top half of the rolls back over the fillings.
  3. Create the glaze: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, brown sugar, and poppy seeds until fully combined.
  4. Apply the glaze: Slowly and evenly pour the entire glaze mixture over the tops of the sliders. Use a pastry brush to spread the glaze down the sides and into the seams of the rolls, ensuring the tops are thoroughly saturated.
  5. Rest the sliders: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Allow the sliders to rest for 10-15 minutes (or up to 4 hours refrigerated) to absorb the glaze before baking. This step is critical for flavor distribution.
  6. Bake, covered: Bake the covered sliders for 15 minutes. This ensures the cheese melts completely and the rolls remain soft.
  7. Brown and finish: Remove the foil and continue baking for 5–10 minutes more, or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Slice and serve: Allow the sliders to rest for 5 minutes after removing from the oven. Use the serrated knife to carefully cut them along the original score lines. Serve immediately while hot and gooey.
