Ingredients:

  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (397g)
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) ice water
  • 1 (3.4-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix (96g)
  • 3 cups (720ml) heavy cream, cold
  • 1 (12-ounce) box vanilla wafers (about 45 cookies) (340g)
  • 4-5 medium ripe bananas, sliced (about 600g)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and ice water until well combined.
  2. Sprinkle the instant pudding mix over the sweetened condensed milk mixture and whisk for 2 minutes until smooth and starting to thicken.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the cold heavy cream with a mixer until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. In a 9x13 inch dish or trifle bowl, arrange a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom.
  6. Top the wafers with a layer of sliced bananas, followed by a layer of the pudding mixture.
  7. Repeat layers of vanilla wafers, bananas, and pudding until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of pudding.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 8 hours) to allow the wafers to soften and the flavors to meld.
