Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) vanilla extract
- 3 cups (710 ml) ice cubes
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) coarse kosher salt (or rock salt)
Instructions:
- In the smaller resealable bag, combine heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Seal the bag tightly, pressing out any excess air.
- Fill the larger resealable bag with ice cubes and salt.
- Place the sealed smaller bag inside the larger bag containing the ice and salt. Seal the larger bag tightly.
- Using a kitchen towel or oven mitts to protect your hands from the cold, shake the bag vigorously for 15-20 minutes. Shake continuously, checking occasionally for consistency. The ice cream is ready when it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Remove the small bag from the large bag. Wipe off the outside of the small bag to remove any salt. Open the bag and enjoy your homemade ice cream in a bag immediately!
