Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, garlic, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels, lightly salt the flesh side, and brush the marinade generously over the top and sides.
  3. Let the marinated salmon sit at room temperature for 10 minutes while the grill heats.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high (approximately 400°F/200°C) and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Place salmon fillets skin-side down, press gently for 5 seconds to ensure contact, and cook undisturbed with the lid closed for 6–8 minutes.
  6. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare or 140°F for medium.
  7. Remove from heat and let the fish rest on a platter for 5 minutes before serving.
