Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
- 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin-on
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Instructions:
- Whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, garlic, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels, lightly salt the flesh side, and brush the marinade generously over the top and sides.
- Let the marinated salmon sit at room temperature for 10 minutes while the grill heats.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high (approximately 400°F/200°C) and lightly oil the grates.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down, press gently for 5 seconds to ensure contact, and cook undisturbed with the lid closed for 6–8 minutes.
- Carefully flip the fillets and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 130°F for medium-rare or 140°F for medium.
- Remove from heat and let the fish rest on a platter for 5 minutes before serving.
